What is next?

Most of the time we spent talking about mistakes done in the past and pointing figure to each other... That's fine as long as we are trying to learn from it and go forward but my question is what is the strategy going forward? What is in the pipe for for Oromos? Anyone any idea? How do we battle our enemies or in what front?

Speak Out Oromo!

Thursday

Never, never, never give in or give up!!

If you know your history, you know that the subject of this email is a misquote of Winston Churchill's speech at the Harrow School in 1941, during World War II. What he actually said was, "Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never--in nothing, great or small, large or petty--never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."

For the purpose of this newsletter, I used the words, "give up" because many of us are faced with situations that present opportunities to give up. My run yesterday morning was an example and it was like a metaphor for life. The route that I was determined to take was literally uphill for the first 40:00. Since I live more than a mile high, that meant getting to the top of my run at over 6,000 feet. There were plenty of opportunities to turn left or right, and then I could have run relatively flat and made it easier, but to do that would mean giving up and not reaching the top, which was the turn around and then an easy downhill run home.

Winston Churchill mentions never yielding "to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy". For us that could be portions of food or food choices, apathy, laziness or other lifestyle challenges. If we determine ourselves to never yield to our "enemies", we will ultimately reach our "top" or our goal and our lives will become far easier for having achieved that ultimate success.

Never, never, never give up because life is full of promise if we keep moving forward and working toward our goals. As William Leary said, "Every opening daffodil, every growing child, every glimmer of human enlightenment, every bodily process of healing -- tells us the future is not fearsome but is full of promise."

Never, never, never give in and you will experience the full promise that the future holds for you.
