So what have you done 2005 as an Oromo Individual?

The New Year is coming shortly and this is a time to look back and reflect what we have accomplished through out the year and plan for the year 2006. I am not interested to know your personal success. What I would like to know is how your personal success is translated in helping your community or in helping other Oromos. What did you do to advance Oromos cause? Did you just talk about it or did you do something about it? I know a lot of us spent hours in a coffee shop talk current events and politics. Did you speak in behalf of your fellow Oromos or spent time speaking against your fellow Oromos? Are you still tangled with politics of Oromo politically parties or religious organization? Did you be able to look further? Where are you relative to a year, five years or ten years ago? Do you find yourself advancing or you see your self in the same place. Are you talking the same thing as you were talking fifteen years ago? If you are my brother and sisters it is time to look forward. We can not recover the time that been wasted by we can seize our future.

Let me give you some advice. List everything you have done in the last year. Decided which one you will need to less or which one you will do more. If you think you have not contribute more for Oromo issue promise yourself you will do more next year and just do it! Your people need you. Determine what you can do as individual and do it. Not just wait for some organization to lead you. It is good if we have an organization truly concerned and lead Oromos to the future. For know I do not think we have one. Probably we are not strong enough as individual and that resulted in week organizatins. We can turn this around if we move ourselves. Let’s not wait for someone to move or stir us around.

There are many people that will tell us how we can not achieve our individual or collective goal but there are a few out there be able to figure out way to achieve the impossible. So, which side are you? Ask yourself this question and make a decision which side you want to be for the New Year.

Happy and progressive New Year to all!

Amharanizing Ethiopia is not a solution

CUD and its supporters think lasting solution for problems in Ethiopia will be solved by Amharanizing everything. Their slogan is one language, one religion and one ethiopia, which translate to Amaharic, Orthodox and an Ethiopia the ruled by Amhara respectively. This is the same theory that they have been preaching for the last hundred years.

Let me tell you friends, either tigere or amahars are not Oromos friends or they will never be. They are in Oromia to suck our blood. Anyone think otherwise, think again.
Neither Wayane nor CUD have a solution to Oromo problem. We will need to fight both enemies equally...

CUD need to understand Amharanizing Ethiopia will not a solution rather will lead the country to unrest and civil war...

Hate???????

One thing I noticed feedback to the issue posted in this blog are always taken as negative. Some of the neftegnas visited this website think I or other Oromos leaving comments about issues are filled with hate to other ethnic group in Ethiopia. To me they are missing the point or just do not want to accept the fact.

I know truth is always hard to swallow it. It is like “koso” medicine. It will get ride of the unwanted parasite from your body eventually but because of its bitter test most people do not want to take it. Neftegnas are like a “koso”. They all are there to suck up Oromos blood. The solution is for Oromos to start taking that bitter “koso” medicine and get ride of this blood sucking neftegnas. They are just a parasite stuck to our land to survive. For them Oromia is a life and death issue.

Neftegnas are engaged in distorting the truth about Oromo and Oromia. We Oromos need to go after this and tell the truth to OUR people and the world. We need to educate ourselves and the rust of the world about the truth. The time to site back and watch the show is now over. We should be in charge of our own affairs.

I would like to tell my fellow neftegnas, we do not hate you. We are not in the business of promoting hate. We just like to tell the truth. Truth might hart but in the current Ethiopia configuration Oromos are the biggest loser. We want that to be fixed. That process maybe offends you along the way …., tough luck. I and my people we will keep move one step at time forward until we get to the top of the mountain.

Surprise Surprise!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been talking to my fellow Oromos during the election and after the election what the next move for Tigre. I have been saying all along Meles will change his position about Oromo opposition group. That became reality last week. Meles now know that aligning himself with Amahars did not help for his ambition to stay on power for as long as he can. He had been attacking Oromos and any Oromo movement by forging solidarities with Amahar group and individual. That ended up back fired to him. He did not except neftegnas will gain this much popularities and strong showing in the last election. They almost tip off his regime.

The only one reason Meles stayed in power is because of the OPDO. Meles know that and he also know that OPDO is not a legitimate representative of Oromo people. So, for him the smart move is to extend his arm to hug another Oromo organization that has a perception among Oromo people as a legitimate organization. What would be the better choice than OLF? Has name recognition and have be in government during transition with Wayane. And more so, Meles know a whole lot about OLF than any other Oromo organizations. He knows their strength and weakness. He knows how to manipulate this organization, as he has done it before.

The bottom line is OLF should be careful this time and let’s not repeat the same mistake done in 1991. Let’s not take Wayane’s offer for face value. The only reason why Wayane extend this offer at this time is to strength his regime and defeat Amahar’s movement. Not because they care about Oromo people. We should remember that both Tigres and Amahars are neftegnas and they are in Oromia to suck up Oromos blood. And Wayane want bigger straw. OPDO is not big enough to suck up Oromos blood. Now they want to add OLF too.

As far as Oromo concerned Tigre and Amahars are the two faces of the same coin. We should stand up and fight both evil. There is no need to alien ourselves with any of them….

Who is Oromo's Enemy?

I have spent quite sometime just visiting most of Oromo website and discussion forums. It is sad to learn that 99% of the time Oromos are spending time just fighting and insulting each other. Oromos are so polarized by region, religion and ideology. Oromos from specific region think they are the only genuine Oromos. Others, are either nefxeenyaas or diqaallaa. Islam Oromos think they are the only genuine Oromos and Christian also thinks they are the only genuine ones. This is also true for Waaqqeefataa also.
Also this indicate that there is a mistrust among Oromos. Which in general benefit the Habeshas. This is a system that put in place by Nefxeenyaas in the last 100 years and that well server them a great deal of purpose. For Nefxeenyaa it was the only effective system that enable them to rule Oromia. That is why some of the Nefxeenyaa's party want to abolish Ethiopia that divided by states.
Today is very sad to see Oromos failed to see this system is still highly affecting our movement toward freedom. The system is still working as designed by Nefxeenyaas 100 years ago. We bring our religion and region before Oromuummaa. Oromos preferred to identify themselves by the region where they came from or by the religious organization they are following. In contrary our masters identify themselves as an "Ethiopian" first and then go their religion and region second. This is one of the problem slaver bring us to Oromo people and one of the problem that so called educated Oromos even failed to explain to their own people. Rather they exploit this situation to promote their position and their status in the society.
Oromos need to encourage and promote collective thinking. Exploiting division among us does not benefit Oromos as whole. It will give more ammunition to our enemy to attack us. We can only librated if we work together by recognizing and accepting the difference among us, not attack each other. Let's not give more tool and ammunition to our enemies help enslave us and kill us. Remember people who promote the division of religion and region among Oromos are not necessarily Oromos. We will need to be careful whom we are listening too.
We Oromos should evaluate and analyze issues raised among us and determine if this will help us move forward or not. If not we should a gut to step on it over jump over it and move forward. We should not let drug us backward. Let's not give our enemies easy way out. Let's not turn use the same tool Nefxeenyaas used to turn Oromos against each other.

Call for Boycott Habesha owned business!

Boycott #1

My position is a consequence of more than 100 years of debilitating occupation, the dispossession of most Oromos, Ethiopian’s continuing atrocities, and its breaches of international law and of humanitarian standards, as well as the general discriminatory nature of its system. These practices are all well documented in reports of human rights agencies, and are starkly visible in the form of facts on the ground.

Because the facts speak for themselves, but a solution is nowhere in sight, it is time for people of conscience to take a stand and influence both public opinion and government policies. It now must be so since the world’s powers have failed to take measures that hold Ethiopia, like any other state, accountable for its abuses and force it to adhere to international standards. In the absence of any such accountability, it becomes the duty of citizens to act independently to expose and resist injustice. The boycott of Habesha businesses is a pacifist form of resistance that sends a strong message of concern over the on-going destruction of Oromo educational institutions, culture, language, economy and, in particular, helps expose to the world’s public the culpability of Ethiopia government in perpetuating illegal activities in Oromia. This boycott entails a pledge not to support or participate in any Habesha business. I believe this international boycott should be sustained until Ethiopians and Ethiopian government stop all of the above mentioned abuses in Oromia and restore the right of Oromo to self determination. Meanwhile, I encourage dialogue with Oromos in Diasporas and in Oromia who demonstrate readiness to participate in realizing these objectives.

I challenge other Oromo individuals, politicians, religious leaders, human right activist and Oromo intellectuals not to remain unmoved, or by their silence become complicit, but rather to take a stand and act in solidarity with the Oromos movement against the Ethiopian government’s political and economic war in Oromia. I urge fellow Oromos worldwide to adhere to and publicize this call to boycott any business owned by Habesha in Oromia and in any part of the world, and to affirm it as an act of conscience.

Note: pass this message by all means available to you, email, phone …

What are we doing in Eritrea?

I do not understand the notion of OLF leaders seeking refuge in Eritrea. Haven’t they learned from 1991 mistake? Eritrea is not a country that helped undermine the Oromo struggle by siding with Wayane? How soon we forgot what happened to us? Just for the sake of self respecting and for the respect for the Oromo people should we dump this people?

I seem to have more question than answers. The reason I am doing this is not to undermine the effort of the Oromo leaders or other Oromo individuals who have contribute so much so far. I do respect all Oromo organization and individuals who have prompted Oromo issue in any way or fashion. I have a great deal of respect for what they contributed. Because of all that we are more aware of who we are today. Especially Oromos who are still living in Oromia can be a prim example for that. I myself live part of the year in Oromia and I personally witnessed what is going on. That is why sometime vigorously argue with my friends in diasporas whom they think to know more about what is going on in Oromia.

The OLF and other Oromo political organization are have misconception about this Oromo struggle for freedom. I think they except something magic to happen. That might remove Wayane from power and put them in power. 1991 free pass to power. I might be wrong. That might happen if CUD threat to Wayane is getting stronger. They might invite OLF and other Oromo organization to gain Oromo people support. Who know? I suggest you watch your steps this time around. There are a lot of booby-trap along Eritrea and Ethiopians border. I would like to say to OLF do not take Eritrea for the face value.

I would like to say this for All Oromo Organization out there before I go for today. If you want to successes in fight against Habesha make Oromo people your alien. If you think you will win this fight by just you and you few friends only, think again…

Who is GRILLED?

I saw "BBC grills Meles to embarrassment" heading in most of Ethiopians news site and went out to watch both Meles and Hailu Shawel interviews online. Both were interesting interview and the hardtalk host did a good job pushing both sides to the limit. I was impressed by the interviewer. He did all his homework before he sat to talk to those guys.

My impression was, if we say Meles grilled at the interview, we should say Hailu Shawel was cooked in the pizza oven. How many time he got caught lying. He did not have any answer to all question has been asked. He even denied an article written by CUD. Come on, I know Meles is an evil but this guy is pathetic. He is worthless. His hand is washed by too much innocent blood during Red Terror.

It is amazing how blindly Habeshas rally behind this guy. This guy can not even talk. He does not have a plan (a real plan to move the country forward). This is a guy who comes out on the TV and opposes a debt relief to his own country. This guy real plan is to move back the country to blood shad and bring back a naftegna rule.

Here is what my advice is to CUD. If you are going to be on TV please bring someone that at list knows what is talking. That way at list you can disguise your ulterior motive. As you guys said do not bring on TV someone line Hailu who is “gemed aff” lol

Since when we are so liked by Habesha?

I do not know if you guys noticed but this days most of the articles or comment posted in the most of Ethiopians website seems to be authored by Oromos. The articles are in general support CUD and other habesha point of view. We Oromos clearly know that the use of Oromo penname is designed to make it sound like Oromos are in support of CUD and current Habesha movement.

Why they think this evil organization is supported by Oromos? What is in it for Oromos that we will rally behind it? Oromos will not stand to lose more than they have already lost. They should know that we Oromos are not sitting back and watch when “Qubee” and state of Oromia taken away from us. Which is the one and the main goal of CUD want to achive. We are not going to be divided by superficial means anymore. That did not do any good for Oromos in the last 100years. It’s weekend us and made us sundered to savage Abyssinians.

By posting articles on there website in Oromo names or putting Oromo individuals like Dr. Marara in the front sit will not fool us anymore. We have been fooled so many times and we have learned from our mistakes. Publishing your lie and negative propagandas using individual Oromo name would not change our position. We are not going to give you a rope and tree to hang us. We did that before and you never restrain yourself from killing us. Remember Arsii. When you guys mutilate and butchered us. It was not too long to forget. The scar is still show in our face and back.

Now we are not asking you to leave or we are not going to kill you as you Abyssinians did in the past. We ask you not to take away what we have so far. We are not yet have everything we need. We are not yet to the top of the mountain but we are marching toward that. I will advise you not to be in our way. We are not going to let you walk on our face as we did before …

Hailu Shawel is a MORON

I think Hailu Shawel is got it write this time. He said people of Ethiopia have two faces. That exactly what I am trying to tell peoples for a long time. You can see multiple personality of this guy in this interview. This guy is monsters in a baby cloth. If this guy is unleashed he will murder people. He will turn this Empire into to a blood shade. Forget about Rwanda, it will not even close for comparison. This is a guy who wants to get to power by any means possible. Even the Amaharas called this kind of guy "Ke fesu yet tala".

His economic plans are laughable. He talks about connection he has with the people out side Ethiopia. Whom he will bring for investment. I think he mean those Amaharas whom are full of hatreds other ethnics leaving in Ethiopia. I think he need them to kill all Oromos and other ethnic group whom are not going to agree with his on redesigning the Ethiopian Map. Ofcourse, except Dr. Merara.

I am just encourage my visitors to go to this link and listen to what this guy says. It just give me a headache to listen too but that is typical of them.

Okay, let's take everything of the table and just ask one question. How could you say no to debt relief and donors money while your people are still dying of hunger, AIDS, etc ...?

"if you're not ready to die for it, put the word freedom out of your ...

"A man who won't die for something is not fit to live", Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"If you're not ready to die for it, put the word freedom out of your vocabulary", Malcolm X

I have recently run into this great quotes. Let me rephrase this, I have been made aware of this two by one of my fellow Oromo. This is something, it speak to us directly. Do we have something to die for or are we ready to die for our freedom? I hope we do. If not, the blood of all Oromos died for freedom of Oromia will question us. Lets not be the generation that bring Oromos freedom struggle to halt. Lets put our effort to make the freedom of Oromia real in our time. Let not pass slavery to next generation. If that the case it would be a biggest mistake we have ever done in Oromo history.

I have seen so many Oromo discussion board on Internet from around the world. It seems this forum are targeting Oromos than our enemies. I genuinely think this does not move our cause any further, rather it takes has two-step back and more. If the energy and effort put to blame each other is directed to our enemies it will make us great freedom fighters, rather than portraying us as a people who do not really know what they want. In the history of human struggle for freedom, people stand, as one will prevail at the end. This has been repeated so many times in our lifetime. We should learn some from other people experiences. That would be a smart thing to do.

I have seen my fellow Oromos evoking “freedom of speech” whenever insult other fellow Oromos. Do not take me wrong. I am all for freedom of speech. But post a material that threatening, abusive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable to other Oromos does not constitute freedom of speech. The whole idea of having forum should be for Oromos to communicate their idea and share knowledge. This day’s information is everything. Informed society will make better choice. Informed society will know who is who; who are the enemies are and who are the friends.

The bottom line if we exchange GOOD information rather than throwing shady words to each other, we will become better society and better freedom fighters. And the big one is we will know when enemies are trying to infiltrate us and try to divided us; which they have done successfully in the last 100 years. If we informed each other we know what to DIE for and we will keep the word FREEDOM in our vocabulary!

Oromo, what are you upto?

My people,

This is not a time we can relax and sit back. I am not seeing any activity on Oromos behalf. Where are all those Oromo organization out there? Why I am not hearing their voice? This is a time to standup face reality. This is not a time when we can relax and watch TV or just eat hamburgers. People back home are waiting to hear something from us.

Why any Oromo political party did not pass a single resolution to what is going on in Oromia. What are they waiting for? I heard OLF's chairman pathetic news release. Which basically serve no purpose to Oromos. Amaharas have tons of people speaking for them how the election was not right. They do not need OLF help in that. Come on can we be able to come up with better resolution.

I hope someone is out there that will hear me and my people cry for help.

I suggest the following:

For Oromo intellectuals, please go out and write articles and explain to regular Oromo people what this election mean and what is going on that country and how we should respond.

Lets respond to the accusation by CUD and other Amahara organization.

Lets send mass email to friends and families back home and abroad with the information that we see important to OUR people. Information exchange is key to our success. That will put as ON THE TOP OF THE GAME

Police: Lions free kidnapped girl

Tuesday, June 21, 2005; Posted: 9:39 a.m. EDT (13:39 GMT)

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) -- Police say three lions rescued a 12-year-old girl kidnapped by men who wanted to force her into marriage, chasing off her abductors and guarding her until police and relatives tracked her down in a remote corner of Ethiopia.

The men had held the girl for seven days, repeatedly beating her, before the lions chased them away and guarded her for half a day before her family and police found her, Sgt. Wake up Oromo!

I am always convinced that it is wrong for Oromos being ruled by minority people from Abisiniya. This is also true in the eyes of any majority people ruled by minority. This idea is simple and straight forward. There are many so called Oromo organizations try to make it complicated this issue when they bring it forward to Oromo people. To me this issue has been clear and straight forward. I run into individuals try to tell me otherwise. More than that they try to label me anti Oromo liberation. This is quite a contrary. What I am trying to say is there is more than one way to get where we want to get. Let us not caught in our past and become obstacle to our forward movement. We should learn from our past and move forward people.
There are number of Oromos who have such a great fear of living with Ethiopians. I sure do not blame those people. Ethiopians are killer. There will exercise there power if they get a chance. This people are not shy of killing their sons and daughters when it comes to power and property. Take a look at Gojam and Gonder history for more on that. My point is this people are killers but as the majority we should know what to do with them. Oromo do not fear to die if they think it is the right cause. That is why the 90% of the soldiers died during Ethio-Eritria conflict were Oromo kids. Most of them 18-25 years old.
This is time to evaluate our path. Let us not spend time listening to individualist ego driven Organizations. Lets join an Organization or a group that is moving Oromos forward not drug them back into SLAVERY.

CUD (Amahara) are killers. Will kill all Oromos ...

Dear my Oromo people!

Let me remind you one more time. CUD is a death machine. If it is unleashed it will kill millions of Oromos. This is not just to make you scared or to label this organization with bad reputation but to just give you a fact. Take a look at Ethiopian history starting from Minilik time. Since then there was not time they have stopped from killing Oromos and taking Oromos land buy force. Oromos will never forget what happens in Arsii during Minilik, in Bale during Hailesilase and in entire Oromia during Derge. Hundreds of thousands of innocent life lost and Oromos land is taken either by force or by systematic means like resettlements of Amahara people on Oromo lands.

These are the people would love to see Oromos being killed and thrown to jail. That's been observed by these organization response couple of years back when Oromo students been killed by Wayane. None of this Organization spoke out against it. Even there civil right organizations. It was all clear now and then, Amaharas were the big force behind in orchestrating the move of Oromia capitol from Finfinee to Adama. That's why Wayane's decision this time was a big upset for Amaharas.

Most of the member of this organization are either resurrect from ashes of EDU, EPRP or Degre. Which none of them were favorable to Oromo cause. They do things in the name of one Ethiopia. Which to them basically means a supremacy of Amahara language, Orthodox religion and Amahara rule. Anything short is not acceptable. Just go ahead and read all Ethiopians web site and media outlet. It just repeat the above redbrick over and over.

CUD IS WRONG FOR OROMO! Let's beware. Let's not stop fight these evils. We can not afford to lose again for another barbaric ABYSSINIAN minority people !!!!!!!!!!

/Speak out oromo!

CUD is nightmare for Oromos

This groups are very dangerous in every way to Oromos and Oromo struggle. Here is why:

1) They wanted to redraw Ethiopia map. Possibly changing to older version of the map. Which will divided Oromos into smaller subset. Which will give the legitimacy to abolish current Oromia state. That will included get rid of "Qubee". All this reveres Oromo struggle backward a century again.

2) This group want to remove "Article 39" from the Ethiopian Constitution and basically wants to rewrite the Constitution in the way that favor Amaharas.

3) They also want to return Eritrea under the colony of Ethiopia. Which mean more war, more blood shade and more anarchy. That's what all there plan is seems to point to any ways.

4) CUD interest is about oppressing Oromos in Ethiopia, as any of the Ethiopian government in the past 100 years. May be they going to be the worst when it comes to Oromos.

For Oromos the choice is which one is lesser evil. Both Wayane and CUD are the same coin with two face, but the CUD side of the coin looks much Darker for Oromos. I hope more and more Oromos will understand this and will continue to make the right choice. As they have already done in the May 15 election.
